So let's just say, hypothetically speaking - that you find a house that you'd like to buy, and that house costs X. You then put in an offer of X-5 which is still a pretty good deal for the seller. Then you wait and agonize all day. Then, at the very last minute, the seller comes back with a counter offer of X+10. You read that right, folks. Their counter offer is higher than their listing price. I don't know about you, but this officially smacks of stoopid to me.
There was a saying that the boys at my college used to whisper amongst themselves, and I think it applies nicely in this situation. I believe it went something like this:
Don't stick it in the crazy. Otherwise you'll live to regret it.
Yep. I think that works for me. Sigh.
